Demanding a reputable, experienced, and certified firm to service your surfaces will help you maintain a cleaner and healthier indoor environment. A favorable indoor environment promotes happiness and decreases anxiety. The Orth family has been dedicated to service since 1997. We attribute our success to unparalleled service and employing the best technicians in the industry. Oriental Rug Cleaning In-plant rug cleaning is recommended for oriental rugs and loose woven rugs. Oriental rugs should not be cleaned on location like wall to wall carpet. Proper diligence is required while cleaning delicate fibers. We service the finest rugs from around the world and the most basic rugs as well. In our state of the art cleaning plant, rugs receive special attention by our certified rug cleaning specialist. Our staff will meticulously care for your rugs to ensure maximum soil and spot removal. Cleaning rugs in our plant enables us to provide several treatments for a more thorough cleaning and use various specialized tools that are not available with on-site cleaning. Another benefit of in-plant cleaning is our ability to control drying conditions, which can be crucial with some fiber types. Our 8 Step Rug Cleaning Process Pre-Inspection: All aspects of rugs are inspected to determine the type of fiber, colorfastness, and degree of soiling in order to apply the safest most effective method to accomplish cleanliness. Dusting (dry soil removal): Woven rugs, especially hand-knotted rugs are designed to hide dry soil. Several years ago, the Eureka Company did a study and found that a 9x12 rug could hide 87 pounds of soil without looking soiled. We use a special tool, dubbed the Rug Badger, designed for rugs to release granular soil from rug fibers. The Rug Badger creates 40,000 sonic booms per minute on the backing of the rug to free maximum dry soil. Pre-conditioning: Coating the rug with safe solutions for specific fiber content to emulsify and loosen the soil. These solutions are drawn out of the rug in the extraction process. Pre-spotting: Address potentially challenging spots before cleaning as a proactive measure. Fringe preparation: Fringe is untangled and pretreated for maximum soil removal. Wash pit: Rugs are completely submerged to wash out soil and contaminates. A specialized rug wand is used to apply gentle water pressure to wash the rug. While water and soil are drawn from the wash pit thus reducing pollutants. This process is performed repetitiously on both sides of the rug and results in a clean rug. Dry: Rugs are suspended and dried in a controlled environment so we are able to alter the drying process as needed. Proper drying is crucial to avoid complications such as unnatural shrinkage. Finishing: When rugs are dry, we use groomers and finishers designed for delicate rug fibers to leave your rug soft and full of luster. Post-inspection: Our cleaning Specialists perform a final inspection. Rugs are then wrapped in brown craft paper for protection from dust and environmental soils while in transport.
